Thursday, 19 November 2015 terrorism

Moscow (Agenzia Fides) - "Russia and France were allies during the last great war and defeated the Brown Plague (Nazism, ed) together. Now we must together oppose the plague of international terrorism for the sake of the future of our nations". These are some of the most eloquent phrases that Metropolitan Hilarion, head of the department for external relations of the Moscow Patriarchate, wrote in the Book of Condolence for the victims of the terrorist attacks in Paris, during his visit to the French Embassy in Moscow, on Tuesday, November 17. In his message – sent to Agenzia Fides - the "foreign minister" of Russian Orthodoxy also expressed deep condolences on behalf of His Holiness Patriarch Kirill of Moscow for the innocent victims of the attacks in Paris. The terrorists of the self-proclaimed Islamic State - wrote Metropolitan Hilarion "are servants of Satan, even if they use religious slogans to cover their monstrous crimes", and there is no and nor there can be any justification of terrorism. "We must all unite against terrorism". (GV) (Agenzia Fides 19/11/2015)
