Amman (Agenzia Fides) - The manual on domestic violence prepared by the Association of young Christian women in Jordan, drawn up as part of the project titled "my dignity", was presented on Saturday, November 14 in Amman. The purpose of the manual is to provide a methodology for dealing with cases of domestic violence.
The manual is in particular addressed to vocational guidance, and provides elements of legal competence to groups and organizations that deal with this phenomenon, so widespread and hidden, with reference also to international treaties that protect the sectors at risk. The meeting was attended by parliamentarians and representatives of civil society organizations involved in defending the rights of women and children.
The Young Women's Christian Association, YWCA is a non-governmental organization, founded in Jordan in 1950 and registered at the Ministry of Social Development. It represents the Jordanian branch of the World YWCA Association, based in Geneva, and aims to help women and protect their rights from every racial, social and religious discrimination.
