EUROPE/ITALY - LIVING MISSION: YOUTH MISSION CAMP OPENS TODAY IN LORETO ORGANISED BY PONTIFICAL MISSION SOCIETIES ITALIAN BRANCH

Monday, 28 July 2003

Loreto (Fides Service) – A National Youth Missionary Formation Camp opened on July 28 at the John Paul II Youth Centre in Loreto, Italy. The July 29-3 August camp organised by the Pontifical Mission Societies in Italy has chosen the theme “Living Mission” and it launches proposals to youth to elaborate a project of life and mission in view of building a home in which all peoples feel welcome. Therefore young people in particular are called to cultivate the ideal and to strive to build a home as big as the world, challenging globalisation with a life style which becomes a way of being. Camp activity will include prayer, liturgy, testimony, work groups, sharing in assembly, fraternity and feasting. Every day will have its own theme for reflection: the project: which home to build; To build a home...indispensable values; I found a home with the Lord; How we live in a home; different life styles; the homes of peoples. The young campers will listen to a talk by Gianmarco Proietti of the Salesian Youth Movement on “Youth and Globalisation and they will also watch a Family and Mission video on voluntary missionary work, child entrustment and adoption.
