Edinburgh (Fides Service) - Commenting this morning on the Pope's worsening health, Cardinal Keith O'Brien, President of the Bishops' Conference of Scotland said; "It is with increasing concern that I have followed news reports from Rome concerning the health of the Holy Father. Clearly, his very poor health is a cause of great concern to those in the Catholic community and many others besides. I extend my warmest thanks to all those from other churches and faiths who have made contact to offer prayers and good wishes, their kindness is greatly valued. Catholics in Scotland and around the world continue to be inspired by Pope John Paul II as he manages to bear daily testament to the gift of life, from its first beginnings until its natural end.”.PS (Fides Service 1.4.2005)
