AFRICA/CÔTE D'IVOIRE - Bishop of Daloa resigns the Pope appoints new Bishop

Vatican City (Fides Service) - The Holy Father, Pope John Paul II, on 22 March 2005, accepted the renunciation of the pastoral government of the diocese of Daloa (Côte d'Ivoire) presented by Bishop Pierre-Marie Coty in conformity with the Code of Canon Law canon 401 § 1. The Holy Father appointed Bishop of Daloa Mgr. Maurice Konan Kouassi until now Bishop of Odienné (Côte d'Ivoire). (S.L.) (Agenzia Fides 22/3/2005; Righe 5; Parole 69)
