EUROPE/GERMANY - “Prayer can change us and the world”: 3rd annual ecumenical prayer campaign promoted by Pontifical Mission Societies in Germany

Aachen (Fides Service) - A religious service at the head offices of the Pontifical Mission Societies in Germany - missio Aachen - marked the start on 11 January of the annual Ecumenical Prayer Campaign 2005. This is the 3rd such campaign organised every year by the Pontifical Mission Societies (missio) in collaboration with the Lutheran Mission Work EMW and the German Catholic Mission Council DKMR. National Director of missio Aachen PMS Germany Father Hermann Schalück, OFM told Fides that the slogan chosen “Prayer can change us and the world” is the slogan chosen for the campaign for this year.
“The aim of our prayer campaign is to help people walk in this world with their eyes open to suffering our own and that of others, and open to God’s work of salvation and our own contribution towards saving the world”, Herbert Meißner, president of the Lutheran Mission Work and Father.
