ASIA/INDIA - Appointment of Rector of the regional "Holy Trinity" Major Seminary in Jalandhar

Vatican City (Agenzia Fides) - On 17 April 2015 Cardinal Fernando Filoni, Prefect of the Congregation for the Evangelization of Peoples, appointed rev. Alphonse Shah, of the archdiocesan clergy of Delhi as Rector of the regional "Holy Trinity" Major Seminary in Jalandhar (Punjab).
The new Rector was born on January 6, 1963 and was a ordained priest on December 6, 1995 in Delhi. He studied philosophy at the Nagpur University and theology at the Pontifical Seminary in Pune. He obtained a doctorate in moral theology at the Alphonsian Academy in Rome. Since his ordination he carried out his priestly ministry in the parish for a few years. Since 2008 he has been a teacher at the Regional "Holy Trinity" Major Seminary in Jalandhar. In the last five years he was also Vice-Rector. (SL) (Agenzia Fides 31/08/2015)
