San Paolo (Agenzia Fides) - "Helping our communities to reflect and deepen the reality of migration, enlightened by the experience of this year’s Fraternity Campaign, whose theme 'Church and Society' has allowed us to better understand and contextualize the mission of Jesus and of his followers all over the world: 'I have come to serve' " With these words the Bishop of Pesqueira, His Exc. Mgr. José Luiz Ferreira Sales, who is the Head of the Pastoral Service of Human Mobility of the Episcopal Conference of Brazil (CNBB), defines the primary objective of the 30th Week of Migrants, which is being celebrated in Brazil, from June 14 to 21.
Sponsored by the Pastoral Service for Migrants (SPM) of the CNBB, the Week has the theme "Migration and Society" and the slogan "No to prejudice, yes to rights and participation". According to information sent to Fides, it aims to deepen the reflection made on the occasion of the Brotherhood Campaign 2015, analyzing the current situation of migrants present in Brazil. Some subsidies have been prepared by the SPM: Mgr. Ferreira Sales’ message for the occasion, elements for the contextualization of the theme, a Bible meeting that involves the analysis of some life experiences, the reading of the word of God, prayer and commitments to carry out, communally and individually. Finally, some suggestions for a celebration are also offered. (SL) (Agenzia Fides 16/06/2015)
