AFRICA/NIGERIA - Catholic priest Kidnapped

Abuja (Agenzia Fides) - According to local media sources, a Nigerian priest, Don Innocent Umor, was abducted from his parish in Ikanepo, in the diocese of Idah, in Kogi State, in central southern Nigeria. The fact happened in the early morning of May 4, when five armed men, according to the information spread by the media, attacked the parish house where the priest was sleeping. The kidnappers demanded a ransom of 4 million Naira (about $ 20,000). Police declared that an investigation is underway. (L.M.) (Agenzia Fides 07/05/2015)
