Shi Jia Zhuang (Agenzia Fides) - Several dioceses in mainland China have opened the month of May, dedicated to the Marian devotion, with a solemn celebration, such as the diocese of Su Zhou in Jiang Su province or diocese of Xian Xian Bei province, where the Bishop, His Exc. Mgr. Joseph Li Lian Gui, during the celebration on April 30, invited the faithful to enrich themselves spiritually with the Word of God, prayer and devotion to Maria. "Spiritually we are weak and poor - said the Bishop - we must repent and pray a lot".

Even the Youth Group of the Diocese of Nan Wei took advantage of the holiday for the celebration of May 1st to make the pilgrimage to the Shrine. Young people not only recited the Rosary together, meditated the Via Crucis and celebrated the Eucharist, but during the pilgrimage they also collected all the waste they found along the path of the mountain, to demonstrate in a concrete way respect for creation and the commitment to protecting the environment.
Even the parishes of the Diocese of Feng Xiang and the Diocese of Zhou Zhi organized the pilgrimage to the Mount of the Cross on May 1st.
Over 2,000 faithful of the Diocese of Ji Nan, province of Shan Dong, went on a pilgrimage to the Marian shrine of Hu Zhuang Shan on the first day of the month of Mary, to celebrate the 120th anniversary of the church building, the work of the missionaries, which was the starting point for the evangelization of the area. The pilgrimage then recalled 120 years of the path of faith in this land, 120 years of Christian witness, 120 years of missionary commitment. The solemn liturgy presided by His Exc. Mgr. Zhang Xian Wang, Bishop of the diocese, was concelebrated by 17 priests. (NZ) (Agenzia Fides 06/05/2015)
