Thursday, 30 April 2015

Kinshasa (Agenzia Fides) - "African media and African rebirth". This is the theme of the Forum of media responsibles in Central Africa which was held in Kinshasa from 24 to 25 April.
"The African rebirth is a political urgency and a historical necessity" said one of the participants in the Forum, Professor Théophile Obenga of Congo Brazzaville, according to whom "the rebirth of the continent will pass through the reform of education, integration projects and the promotion of Pan-African tourism".
"Tourism - according to the lecturer - is a fundamental element so that Africans learn to get to know each other. This will avoid misunderstandings perhaps even conflict; the media are a social and cultural force to make people of Africa aware of this project".
The participants also underlined the role of transcontinental African media in making the voice of Africans heard. (L.M.) (Agenzia Fides 30/04/2015)
