Wednesday, 22 April 2015

Ryad (Agenzia Fides) - The militant of the Islamic State who in the macabre video with the execution of Ethiopian Christians launches threats against "the people of the cross" and recalls the obligations of Christians in the Caliphate, is a Saudi citizen: we are talking about Anas Al-Nashwan, and is among the leaders in the list of 50 most wanted Saudis terrorists.
According to the Arab media, he has the function of explaining in Arabic that the Islamic State imposes on Christians living under its law to convert or pay the Jizya, the "protection fee" imposed on non-Muslims. In the video, in addition to the brutal executions of the two groups of Ethiopian prisoners, there are also shown pictures of people who speak Arabic with Iraqi and Syrian accent, presenting themselves as Christians living in peace in the territories of the Islamic Caliphate after deciding to "freely" pay the Jizya.
The emir Anas Al-Nashwan, former leader of the al-Qaida network in Afghanistan, had announced his adherence to the Islamic State in June 2014. He is considered the author of one of the most popular books among the jihadists, the "Mujiaheddin Guide to the most important verdicts of the apostate". (GV) (Agenzia Fides 22/04/2015)
