Friday, 20 March 2015

Siuna (Agenzia Fides) - A three-hour drive from the town of Siuna, Nicaragua, surrounded by vegetation, is a small community with no electricity, just like many others throughout Latin America.
Recently, thanks to a project of international cooperation, about 800 women from 54 poor Countries have managed to bring light in their respective villages through solar energy.
The women, all from humble families, studied at the Barefoot College in India for months. Now, after having learned how to make light bulbs and to give the correct voltage with the use of solar panels, these women will bring electricity to about fifty poor families in their Country.
