Bogotà (Agenzia Fides) – “On the way to Easter” is the title of a multimedia webpage produced for Lent by the Catholic Bishops’ Conference of Colombia with images, suggested actions and ideas for prayer during this particular liturgical Season.
“The Season of Lent is a time for us, as believers, to open our hearts and allow the Lord to transform our life – said Fr José Elver Rojas, Social Communications Director for the Colombian Bishops’ Conference -. We offer the faithful reflections, graphics and Gospel readings to help them make the most of this special liturgical Season”.
According to the report sent to Fides, besides information with drawings and images on the significance and origin of Lent, the page also provides: the Lenten six weekly liturgy plan with video comments by a bishop and ideas for the homily; the Lenten Campaign focussed on Water, with texts for reflection; sound excerpts of hymns and chants to help meditation; a series of all the recent official Papal Lenten Letters and annual Messages for Peace, while encouraging visitors to send texts of favourite prayers; lastly a Way of the Cross series of meditations and prayers focussed on the theme “Reconciliation and Peace in Colombia”.
