Saturday, 14 February 2015

San Francisco (Agenzia Fides) - The Bishop of the Diocese of San Francisco (Córdoba, Argentina), His Exc. Mgr. Sergio Osvaldo Buenanueva, in a statement sent to Fides said that "Argentine democracy is sick, it needs therapy and there are few effective remedies".
Mgr. Buenanueva made this statement yesterday, February 13, with regards to the upcoming presidential election in the country, which will be held on October 25, 2015.
"The country needs good quality society and citizens" he added, and then referring to the tragic death of prosecutor Alberto Nisman (see Fides 22/01/2015), he said: "a fact that has shaken the consciousness of the population causing a strong collision with reality". "Argentina needs good quality citizens, the political task presupposes a clear choice for truth and common good, and this is possible only with spiritual and moral energy, and we Argentines have this energy, simply look at its history" he concluded.
