AMERICA/MEXICO - Child labor: 2 million and a half working children

Ciudad Victoria (Agenzia Fides) - In the Mexican state of Tamaulipas there are at least 71 000 boys, girls and young workers, who are to be added to the national data of the National Institute of Geography and Statistics (INEGI), where nearly 30 million children in the age group between 5 and 17 years are registered, about a fourth of the total population. In Mexico, the Federal Labour Law authorizes to start working from 14-17 years of age. (AP) (Agenzia Fides 27/01/2015)
