Ouagadougou (Agenzia Fides) - So far there have been no recorded cases of Ebola in Benin, Burkina Faso and Togo, but the probability is very high because of the proximity to the countries that have confirmed the presence of the virus. To be able to face a possible spread of the Ebola virus, a five-day seminar on emergency management and risk reduction has just ended in Ouagadougou. It was attended by 27 members of the Camillian Family (10 from Benin, two from Togo, 15 from Burkina Faso) between religious Camillians, the Daughters of St. Camillus, Lay Camillian Family, Union Catholique des Agents de Santé de l'Action Sociale de Ouagaa (UCASO). The meeting was presided over by Cardinal Philippe Ouédraogo, Archbishop of the capital.
This workshop had the aim to teach participants the different tools for the organization of affected communities and to help develop their own action plan in their respective places in a specific situation of emergency. The seminar concluded with a visit to one of the refugee camps in the city of Sagniogniogo (Donsi) where participants and selected refugees put into practice the techniques learned.
