AFRICA/MADAGASCAR - Nearly two million children have dropped out of school to work

Antananarivo (Agenzia Fides) - In Madagascar 1 million 800 thousand children have left school and are engaged in work activities. To try to sensitize the people on the harsh reality that deprives children of their fundamental rights such as education, the Agua de Coco Foundation has just inaugurated a photo exhibition "Child Labor: the reality of children in Madagascar, at the López Villaseñor Museum of Villa Real in Spain. Agua de Coco is a Foundation which is dedicated to international cooperation, awareness-raising and development education. The goal is to help improve the quality of life of marginalized groups in the Countries of the southern hemisphere, with particular attention to childhood and family environment.
