Wednesday, 29 October 2014

Reyes (Agenzia Fides) - The Apostolic Vicariate of Reyes hosts the meeting of the diocesan Directors of the Pontifical Mission Societies (PMS) in Bolivia, from October 27 to 31. The note sent to Agenzia Fides informs that His Exc. Mgr. Eugenio Scarpellini, Bishop of El Alto and National Director of the PMS; Sister Cilenia Rojas, national coordinator; the staff of the PMS and the Diocesan Directors of 19 ecclesiastical districts of the country are present at the meeting, which is held every two years.
His Exc. Mgr. Waldo Rubén Barrionuevo Ramírez, C.Ss.R., Auxiliary Bishop of the Apostolic Vicariate of Reyes celebrated the opening Mass. In his homily, he said: "This meeting brings together the whole Church in Bolivia, because the PMS signify solidarity and concrete action of evangelization of missionary communities across the country."
Father Justo Pérez, Director of the PMS in Reyes, said he was grateful because it is the first time that Directors meet in this city: "We know that access is very difficult because of the economic situation and the distance, so it is a great event and we are happy to welcome everyone".
The PMS of Bolivia have begun to experience a special moment in their commitment to missionary animation since Bolivia has been chosen as the site of the next American Missionary Congress CAM 5-Comla 10, scheduled in 2018. (CE) (Agenzia Fides, 29/10/2014)
