AFRICA/CONGO DR - A Congolese priest has disappeared for three weeks in Ituri

Kinshasa (Agenzia Fides) – There has been no news of Father Jean-Berchomans Nguna for three weeks, a priest of the Diocese of Bunia, Ituri District, in the Eastern Province, in eastern Democratic Republic of Congo. This was announced yesterday, October 27th, by the local Bishop, His Exc. Mgr. Dieudonné Uringi Uuci, during a press conference. According to Mgr. Uringi, Fr. Nguna was convalescing in the parish of Abbey, 40 km south of Bunia. "Since he has disappeared, no one has had any news. All attempts made by the clergy and the faithful to find him have been unsuccessful", said the Bishop. (L.M.) (Agenzia Fides 28/10/2014)
