ASIA/TURKEY - The Armenian Catholicos announces it will file an appeal to retrieve the properties of the ancient Sis

Athens (Agenzia Fides) - Aram I, Catholicos of the Great House of Cilicia of the Armenian Apostolic Church, has made public his intention to appeal to the Constitutional Court of Turkey within the month of October for the return of the residences and properties belonging to the Catholicate of the city of Sis, the ancient capital of the Armenian Kingdom of Cilicia, which corresponds to the current Turkish town of Kozan. Aram I announced the intention on the occasion of his recent visit to Greece, during an interview with the magazine of the Greek-Armenian community, Azad Or. Aram I said that if his appeal is rejected by the Turkish Constitutional Court, the appeal will be addressed to the European Court of Human Rights. (GV) (Agenzia Fides 01/10/2014)
