Monday, 1 September 2014

Merida (Agenzia Fides) – Merida will host, from 16 to 19 September, Mexico’s 15th national meeting on Pastoral Care for Migrants with the theme “Migrants: for a better World”. Fides was told that the invitation to attend is addressed to bishops, diocesan persons responsible for pastoral care for human mobility and all members of the Church involved in this sensitive pastoral field. The meeting will offer an opportune occasion to “create an ambit of study, dialogue and prayer through which we will work together to intensify our pastoral efforts to address the migratory realities we consider most urgent ”, Fides reads in the invitation issued by Archbishop Emilio Carlos Berlic of Yucatan. The principal presentations will focus on: the identity of the pastoral worker emerging from Church documents; the construction of the profile of the pastoral worker in human mobility; analysis of the present migratory situation in Mexico and lastly, on the “joy of missionary activity”. The participants will also share prayers and group workshops . (SL) (Agenzia Fides 1/09/2014)
