EUROPE/ITALY - Bicycles to reach blind children in remote areas of Africa

Milan (Agenzia Fides) - "Together we can bring light into the lives of thousands of blind children in Africa". This is the message of the event Luci in Bici promoted by CBM Italy Onlus. We are talking about a night cycling event that lit the streets of the historic center of Milan yesterday, July 10. The participants' contribution will support the work of the CBM operators in Africa for blind children. There are, in fact, thousands of people who live in rural areas far from urban centers and therefore cannot be treated in hospitals and health centers. With simple means such as cycling, CBM operators can reach the villages, and identify children who are blind and disabled. (AP) (Agenzia Fides 11/07/2014)
