OCEANIA/PAPUA N.GUINEA - Appointment of the Rector of the "Holy Spirit" inter-diocesan Seminary in Port Moresby

Vatican City (Agenzia Fides) - On January 17, 2014 Cardinal Fernando Filoni, Prefect of the Congregation for the Evangelization of Peoples, appointed rev. Fr. Jacek Tendej, of the Congregation of the Mission as Rector of the "Holy Spirit" inter-diocesan Seminary in the Archdiocese of Port Moresby (Papua New Guinea).
The new Rector was born on June 26, 1963 in Lancut (Poland). He obtained his master's degree in theology at the John Paul II Pontifical University in Krakow (Poland), his diploma in Educational Sciences at the Pontifical Salesian University (Rome), a doctorate in Pedagogy at the Pedagogical University in Cracow, he also studied English at the DePaul University in Chicago (USA). He has held the following positions: teacher of religion at the elementary and middle school in Poland; chaplain and religion teacher at St. Stanislaus Kostka parish in Brooklyn, New York (USA); professor of science education at the theological Institute of the John Paul II Pontifical University in Krakow; educator of young people at the Fr. Siemaszko Krakow Foundation; headmaster of the Vincentian Piekary school, Krakow. (SL) (Agenzia Fides 28/03/2014)
