Seoul (Agenzia Fides) – Biblical Week, an important gathering involving all the Catholic parishes of South Korea, has begun today. This year, the reflection will be on eternal life. As Fides learns from the local Church, Rt. Rev. Abbot Simon Petro Ri Hyong-u, O.S.B., Apostolic Administrator of Territorial Abbacy of Tokwon and President of the CBCK Biblical Committee, issued a message for 2010 Biblical Week which will be celebrated from November 21 to 27, 2010. The message was entitled "The Words of Life".
The message encourages every believer to reflect on the question: “Master, to whom shall we go? You have the words of eternal life (Jn 6:68).” He said that the words of life are not only to console internal lives but also to give us chances to find out our identities. In addition, they can make us reconcile with God and all the neighbors so that we can have better relationship.
The Biblical Week is a moment for deep reflection in the local parishes, but it is also a time for evangelization. In the dioceses and parishes, initiatives for the missions will be held to invite non-believers to participate in conferences, celebrations, prayer vigils, etc. and to become more familiar with the Bible.
