EUROPE/ITALY - Ordination or priests and deacons, from mission for mission

Rome (Agenzia Fides) – Three priests and two deacons of the Fraternity of the Missionaries of St Charles Borromeo will be ordained on Saturday 26 June in Rome at the Papal Basilica of St Mary Major. The ordination will be conferred by Archbishop Dominique Mamberti, Holy See secretary for relations with states. The three new priests, all Italian, will be sent on mission respectively to Prague (Czech Republic), Alverca, a suburb of Lisbon (Portugal) and to Cologne (Germany). Whereas the two new deacons, one from Chile and the other from Germany, will spend a year of service as deacons, respectively in Mexico City and in Jerusalem.
On the same day and again in Rome, in the afternoon of 26 June, at the Church of Gesù, Cardinal Giovanni Lajolo, President of the Pontifical Commission for Vatican City State, will preside the ordination of two Jesuit deacons: one, an Italian, will be in service at the Specola Vaticana, the other one, a Turk, born of Muslim parents, will continue his studies in the field of interreligious dialogue in the fields of moral theology and bio-ethics.
Some sixty Legionaries of Christ will be ordained deacons in the coming weeks in Italy and in other countries. In Roe 26 deacons will be ordained on Tuesday 30 June by Cardinal Paul Josef Cordes, President of the Pontifical Council Cor Unum. The new deacons come from six different countries: Germany (1), South Korea (1) United States (4), Italy (3), Mexico (16), New Zealand (1). Other deacons will be ordained in the following places: Mexico City (16 June), Salamanca, Spain (19 June), Brixen/Bressanone, Italy (27 June), Mérida, Mexico (3 July), Guadalajara, Mexico (3 July), Playa del Carmen, Mexico (16 July), San Cristóbal, Venezuela (17 July), Cornwall, Canada (24 July), Cheshire, USA (7 August), Río de Janeiro, Brazil (15 August).
