ASIA/CHINA - Hundreds of faithful received Confirmation on Pentecost

Wen Zhou (Agenzia Fides) – Being sentinels of Christ, witnesses to the faith, and preachers of the Gospel is the call to the faithful who have received the Confirmation during the recent feast of Pentecost in the various Catholic communities on the mainland. According to information received by Fides, many believers received the Sacrament of Confirmation on Pentecost, Sunday, May 23, with broad participation of the faithful of their communities.
There were 180 faithful of Tang Tou, of the parish of Bei Ou, in the Diocese of Wen Zhou who received Confirmation. This is the largest group in the history of community Tang Tou. 60 catechumens also received baptism, in a ceremony attended by 700 parishioners.
Over 800 faithful of the Cathedral of the Diocese of Bao Ding, in the Province of He Bei, attended the administration of the Sacrament of Confirmation to 7 adults. 65 adult faithful of the parish of Nan Chong, of the Diocese of Nan Chong, received Confirmation and in the afternoon the same day attended the solemn Eucharistic Benediction with the whole community, particularly as a sign of communion.
In the Cathedral of the Diocese of Yi Bin, 94-year-old Bishop Chen Shi Zhong administered Baptism to 4 people and Confirmation to 18 adults. In the parish of Gui Lin, at Pentecost there was an announcement on evangelization through SMS, to meet Jesus every day.
