EUROPE/SPAIN - Day of Prayer for the Church in China celebrated at Shrine of Torreciudad

Torreciudad (Agenzia Fides) – Chinese families living in Zaragoza, Bilbao, Madrid, and Barcelona took part yesterday, Sunday, May 23, in a celebration of the 3rd World Day of Prayer for the Church in China, which was held at the Shrine of Torreciudad. According to information received by Fides, two Chinese priests who render their pastoral service to the Catholic community living in Spain, accompanied almost a hundred pilgrims, including many adults who have received Baptism, Confirmation, and Eucharist this past Easter. In the morning, the pilgrims held a procession in the Shrine's front square, carrying the image of Our Lady of China. Then, there was a celebration of the Mass in Mandarin. In the afternoon, participants recited the Holy Rosary in mobile phone connection with a parish in Taiwan and another from mainland China. (CE) (Agenzia Fides 24/05/2010)
