Beijing (Agenzia Fides) – "We dedicated the church made with the building material, which is the temple of God. Now we must build the Temple of God in our hearts, to witness to Jesus." These are the words of the Bishop's Delegate who presided over the consecration of new church in the District of Wei Xian, in the Diocese of Han Dan, in the He Bei Province, celebrated on February 23. According to reports sent to Fides, thirty priests, along with many religious from the Congregation of the Mother of God in Da Ming and the Congregation of the Holy Spirit Comforter shared in this moment of prayer and joy, along with hundreds of local faithful.
Two days earlier, on February 20, the Catholic community of the Diocese of Han Dan was able to rejoice in the consecration of another church, for the village of Jian Zhuang. This church was under construction for 10 years, but for lack of funds could not finish its latest work and decorations. Now, the local faithful have found the funds and they finally have a new House for the Lord in all its beauty. Fifteen priests concelebrated Mass for the solemn consecration that was presided by Bishop and attended by dozens of religious sisters and hundreds of faithful. The priest who delivered the homily mentioned that "the church is the House of God and also the home of the faithful. We are all members of the Lord's family and we must love and protect our home."
