VATICAN - Schedule for Benedict XVI's Apostolic Journey to Malta, for the 1950th anniversary of the shipwreck of St. Paul

Vatican City (Agenzia Fides) – The Holy See Press Office has released the program for the Apostolic Journey to be made by the Holy Father Benedict XVI to Malta, April 17-18, on the occasion of the 1950th anniversary of the shipwreck of St. Paul. The Pope will leave for Malta at 3:25pm on Saturday, April 17 from the Leonardo da Vinci International Airport in Fiumicino (Rome). At 5pm, there will be a Welcoming Ceremony in the International Airport of Malta, in Luqa. This will be followed by a Courtesy Visit to the President of the Republic, and at 7:45pm, a visit to the Grotto of St. Paul in Rabat. On Sunday, April 18, the Holy Father will celebrate a Mass at the “Piazzale dei Granai” in Floriana, which will be followed by the recitation of the Regina Coeli. In the afternoon, at 5:45pm, he will meet with young people at the “Banchina del Porto Grande” in La Valletta, and at 6:40pm, there will be a Farewell Ceremony and he will return to Rome.
