AMERICA/HAITI - Christian Brothers: no one hurt, novitiate takes in sisters left homeless

Port-au-Prince (Agenzia Fides) - “In Haiti, we have 15 Brothers on the “Ile de la Tortua,” in Port de Paix and Port-au-Prince. There have been no deaths or injuries, nor damage done to our houses. There was only slight damage suffered by the novitiate in Port-au-Prince, which has however opened its doors to the sisters who have been left homeless,” Agenzia Fides was told by the Procurator General of the Christian Brothers, Fr. Leonardo Tejeiro. In Haiti, the religious run primary schools for nearly 6,000 students, a professional school, a center for teachers' training, a center for pastoral ministry, as well as offering their contribution to parish activities.
