Brasilia (Agenzia Fides) – The closing celebration of the 102nd course sponsored by the Center for Intellectual Education (Cenfi) was recently held in the Missionary Cultural Center of Brasilia. The Cenfi organizes courses to prepare the mission in Brazil for the missionaries who come from abroad. It is an initiative that the Church of Brazil has been running for 50 years, having begun in 1960 in Anapolis (GO), through the work of the Franciscan Friars Minor. The closing ceremony of the 102nd Cenfi was attended by 23 missionaries from various countries, including Germany, Canada, China, South Korea, Ivory Coast, Costa Rica, Cuba, Philippines, Japan, India, Mexico, Nigeria, Democratic Republic of Congo, Tanzania, Uganda ...
Following his initial inspiration, the course is composed of three basic proposals: systematic learning of the Portuguese language, an internship with families, and a gradual introduction into the society, culture, and history of the Church in Brazil. The course lasts 90 days. The goal is to offer an initial introduction, the interaction and accompaniment of foreign missionaries in the Brazil. During this period, in addition to lectures, training, events, moments of recreation, and spirituality, there are also moments of exchange among the participants, who come from different countries, cultures and dioceses.
