AMERICA/ARGENTINA - Bishops' Commission for Missions invites all to prepare for the III National Meeting of Missionary Groups

Thursday, 12 November 2009

Buenos Aires (Agenzia Fides) - "With great joy we invite you to participate in the Third National Meeting of Missionary Groups that, God willing, we will live together October 9, 10 and 11 of 2010, with the slogan 'Missionary disciples, here and beyond borders'." Thus begins the letter of the Bishops who are members of the Bishops' Commission for Missions (Bishop José Conejero Gallego, Bishop Luis A. Collazoul, Bishop Marcelo Palentini, and Bishop Juan H. Suarez) of the Argentinean Bishops' Conference. With their letter, they invite all Argentina's missionary groups to prepare for their Third National Meeting.
It has been almost 12 years since the Second National Meeting, which took place in Tucuman. Now it is the Diocese of San Miguel's turn to open its doors to approximately 5,000 members of missionary groups from around the country. The Diocese of San Miguel has already formed an organizing committee that is working in close collaboration with the Pontifical Missions Societies of Argentina (see Fides 27/10/2009) to realize this event, which hopes to bring together missionary groups consisting mainly of laity, youth, and adults. Their intention is to answer the God's call to the ad gentes missionary vocation, in obedience to Jesus' command to “go out to all the earth and preach the Gospel to every creature.” (EC) (Agenzia Fides 12/11/2009)
