Han Dan (Agenzia Fides) – The Yong Nian Catholic Hospital, now in the jurisdiction of the Diocese of Han Dan, in mainland China, is celebrating 20 years of caring for the sick and witnessing Christian love through healthcare services. The hospital celebrated its 20 years of service in recent days, with a Mass of Thanksgiving, a free medical visit, and other initiatives to show how the missionary Church is at the service of man, following in the footsteps of her founder Jesus Christ. Described as "a window of evangelization," the Catholic hospital is run by local priests and religious of the Congregation of the Holy Spirit Consoler. In its 20 years of activity, it has earned the trust and admiration of the people and the consent of local authorities, thanks to its service qualified, professional staff and above all the spirit of love and Christian devotion that characterizes it.
Despite their intense work in the area of medicine and services, the nuns and priests have never neglected their spiritual life. They often invite priests and missionaries from Hong Kong or abroad to guide spiritual events on issues always linked to the evangelization in China. They also attend to the Hospitality Home for the Elderly or the disabled and abandoned children, providing health services in their own home.
