AMERICA/BRAZIL - Redemptorists' Popular Mission in Campo Grande: 740 families involved in a great work of evangelization

Wednesday, 4 November 2009

Bandeirantes (Agenzia Fides) – From October 14 to November 14, the Redemptorists are holding the second part of their popular mission in the city of Bandeirantes. It is a very important stage in the Mission, as it includes the formation of family prayer groups, after the home visits made during the first stage. The prayer/reflection groups are an initiative from the Aparecida Document (number 372), and will hopefully lead to the parish's becoming “a community of communities.”
In the Parish of Our Lady of Aparecida in Bandeirantes, there are 74 missionary groups, 43 in urban areas, and 31 in rural areas. The groups have 10-15 families each, who will participate in 31 meetings, as is called for in “The People of God in Mission.” There will be at least 740 families involved in this great work of evangelization. The organizers of the Mission encourage all to give thanks to God for this time of prayer, evangelization, and conversion, asking Our Lady of Aparecida to intercede for each one of them and for the common missionary effort.
