Santiago de Chile (Agenzia Fides) – Amidst the celebrations of the Continental Mission, Caritas of Chile has organized a National Collection to take place on October 30, which will go towards “all the various social works promoted in the country that work at the service of human dignity.” The theme chosen this year is “Your help is needed to make a thousand smiles.” As the President of Caritas in Chile, Monsignor Juan Luis Ysern, mentioned in regards to the event: “All around us there are poor, sick, those who are wounded or alone...who need to be welcomed personally by us. There are also those who have offended us and those who await our reaching back out to them.” The Collection, in this sense, “should be a call to conversion in our love, solidarity, and fraternity, because every person is my brother,” Msgr.
