VATICAN - Sunday, September 6, Benedict XVI will make pastoral visit to Viterbo and Bagnoregio

Vatican City (Agenzia Fides) – On Sunday, September 6, the Holy Father Benedict XVI will make a pastoral visit to Viterbo and Bagnoregio. The program released by the Holy See Press Office says that at 9am, the Pope's helicopter coming from Castel Gandolfo will land in the Community Sports Field of Rocchi, in Viterbo. A welcome ceremony will be held in front of the “Palazzo dei Papi” in Piazza San Lorenzo (Viterbo) and the Pope will make a brief private visit to the Conclave Hall. At 10:15am, the Pope will preside a Mass in Valle Faul (Viterbo) and lead the recitation of the Angelus. He is also scheduled to make a brief visit to the Shrine of Saint Rose, on his way to the Shrine to Our Lady of Quercia in Viterbo, where at 4:30pm, the Holy Father will have a private visit. At 5pm, he will depart in helicopter to travel to Bagnoregio. At 5:30pm, the Holy Father will make a visit to the Cathedral of Saint Nicholas and venerate the relics of Saint Bonaventure. Lastly, at 5:45pm, he will have an encounter with the local people in Piazza Sant'Agostino. At 6:30pm, he will travel in helicopter from the Sports Field of the Alessandro Pompei Center in Bagnoregio to Castel Gandolfo, where he is scheduled to arrive one hour later.
