Vatican City (Agenzia Fides) – The Holy Father Benedict XVI, on July 22, 2009, accepted the renunciation of the pastoral government of the Diocese of Santiago de Cabo Verde (Cape Verde) presented by Bishop Paulino Do Livramento Évora, CSSp, in conformity with the Code of Canon Law, canon 401 § 1. The Holy Father appointed Bishop Arlindo Gomes Furtado, until now Bishop of Mindelo, as Bishop of Santiago de Cabo Verde (Cape Verde). (SL) (Agenzia Fides 22/7/2009)
