AFRICA/KENYA - CISA Catholic news agency makes an appeal for support

Wednesday, 15 July 2009

Nairobi (Agenzia Fides) – The Catholic Information Service for Africa (CISA) has launched a campaign to raise 13,000 dollars. “Make a donation to support our news service from Africa and for Africa,” says a message sent to CISA readers. The agency's editors is also happy to see a constant growth in the number of readers in the first six years of its services.
Based in Nairobi (Kenya), CISA is one of the few Catholic press agencies in Africa. The agency, promoted by several religious congregations, began its activity in February 2001, after 2 years of preparation. The first news came out two months later, in April. The agency publishes a bi-monthly bulletin and has a website (www.cisanewsafrica.org). It also publishes various documents of the Catholic Church in Africa. CISA maintains a friendly collaboration with Agenzia Fides, as well, offering us their services free of charge, however every year the agency makes an appeal to its readers, requesting their collaboration with donations.
