EUROPE/GERMANY - Catholic Bible Federation Cattolica celebrates 40 years of foundation and moves from Stuttgart to the Benedictine Monastery of St. Ottilien

Sankt Ottilien (Agenzia Fides) – On the occasion of 40 years of the foundation of the Catholic Bible Federation (CBF/KBF) and the transfer of its offices to the monastery of the Missionary Benedictines of St. Ottilien (Germany) on 27 June, there will be a media conference in the presence of Abbot Jeremias Schröder OSB, Bishop Arturo M. Bastes SVD, Bishop of Sorsogon (Philippines), CBF executive committee moderator, and the CBF secretary general, Alexander M. Schweitzer.
In the framework of the conference there will be a presentation of the origin of the Bible Federation, the reasons for choosing to open offices in Stuttgart Germany and the new decision to move to St. Ottilien with the expected effects of synergy and advantages of its presence at the monastery of the Missionary Benedictines of St. Ottilien.
The CBF was founded on 16 April 1969 by Pope Paul VI. Its members are local, national, international biblical organisations with full autonomy, involved in the field of bible pastoral. The Federation was founded to implement the wishes of the Second Vatican Council, expressed in the Dei Verbum Constitution, of which chapter VI recommends pastoral care based on the Bible. The CBF coordinates the work and promotes the development of Catholic Bible Organisation throughout the world. Today it is present with more than 300 members in more than 130 different countries.
