EUROPE - MISSION AND EMIGRATION - “The suitcase with string”: it is unacceptable that three women should be raped and forced into slavery and prostitution, it is unacceptable that people from a rich continent like Africa arrive in the north of the world along paths of blackmail and a thousand threats

Rome (Agenzia Fides) - It is unacceptable that three women should be raped and forced into slavery and prostitution. It is unacceptable that that a girl of 15 should cross a desert alone, accompanied only by death. It is unacceptable that people from a rich continent like Africa should arrive in the north of the world along paths of blackmail and a thousand threats. Just as it is unacceptable that human migration is ruled mainly by organised crime instead of laws adopted by nations to safeguard harmonic development of our communities. All this will continue unless we stop it and heal the suffering at the source. Some say that the occupation of Europe has already begun, others affirm quite the contrary. If the figures are not equivocal, the rules must be clear because no law will ever succeed in stopping emigration unless we have the courage to get to the bottom of the phenomenon which today appears to be unstoppable, but for how long ? (Luca De Mata) (television programme trailer “La valigia con lo spago”: a series of 4 programmes: an investigation into migratory flows and new slavery in the world: Rai Uno beginning 29 June, 2nd evening feature).).
