AMERICA/PARAGUAY - Continental Mission and co-responsibility of the faithful in the economic support of the Church are the focus for the Bishops' First Plenary Assembly of 2009

Asuncion (Agenzia Fides) – Bishops of Paraguay (CEP) will meet on Monday, March 2-6 for their 184th Ordinary Plenary Assembly. This first Assembly for 2009 will be an opportunity for them to enumerate the main guidelines for pastoral ministry in Church life.
Among the themes on the agenda that continue being pertinent are: the methodology for carrying out the Continental Mission in the country and the means for fostering co-responsibility among the faithful in offering economic support to the Church. Moreover, during the Assembly various themes regarding pastoral ministry will be analyzed, such as catechesis in Catholic schools and the statutes of the Pastoral Institute for Youth.
The Assembly will also complete the assignments of Executive Secretaries of several National Pastoral Coordinations and will listen to the informational reports from the National Major Seminary, the Dependent Organisms of the CEP and others. (RG) (Agenzia Fides 27/02/2009)
