Hong Kong (Agenzia Fides) – “Insist on the truth in charity.” This was the advice offered by Auxiliary Bishop John Tong of the Diocese of Hong Kong, President of the Diocesan Commission for Social Communications, to the Chinese version of the diocesan bulletin “Kong Ko Bao, well-known to our readers, and that in 2008 celebrates its 80th anniversary of publication. According to a report from the Kong Ko Bao itself, Bishop Tong expressed his encouragement during the Seminar and presentation of the new issue, dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the publication. He also expressed his joy that Kong Ko Bao can be a place for reciprocal communication among Hong Kong, Taiwan, and Macao, shedding light on Christian culture. One of the main objectives is to improve the literary content, so as to place history and the testimony of the faith in the best possible light. The Seminar was attended by many scholars, priests, missionaries, religious sisters, seminarians, and lay Catholics working in the area of communication, who discussed various themes related to the area of mass media, such as the family, Christian formation, the youth, and evangelization.
