Vatican City (Fides Service) - The Holy Father, Pope John Paul II, has 17 February 2004 accepted the renunciation of the pastoral government of the Archdiocese of Kingston in Jamaica, presented by Archbishop Edgerton Roland Clarke, in conformity with the Code of Canon Law, canon 401 § 1. The Pope has appointed Metropolitan Archbishop Kingston in Jamaica, Archbishop Lawrence Burke, S.J, moving him from the pastoral government of the Archdiocese of Nassau, Bahamas. (S.L.)
