Thursday, 10 July 2008

Rome (Agenzia Fides) - The Higher Learning Institute of Religious Studies at the Pontifical Athenaeum Regina Apostolorum has organized an International Encounter for Superiors of Religious Communities. The objective of the encounter is to offer theological, pastoral, and spiritual support for the formation of religious communities that are healthy, balanced, and love their own charism, at the service of the Church’s needs.
Among the topics of discussion are: the mission and true meaning of apostolate; the formation of the consecrated person; dialogue and communication in religious life; the recent document “Authoritative service and obedience,” which will be presented by Father Pier Giordano Cabra, F.N., one of the leading experts on theology of consecrated life.
The event will be attended by 161 religious sisters from Italy, Spain, France, the Dominican Republic, Peru, England, and the United States. Among the many speakers is Cardinal Franc Rodé, C.M., Prefect for the Congregation for Institutes of Consecrated Life and Societies of Apostolic Life, who will give a conference on “The challenges of the [female] religious superior in the 21st Century.” For more information: Tel. 06 66527918.
