AFRICA/MOZAMBIQUE - “THE FUTURE IS POSSIBLE”: AIDS IN PHOTOGRAPHS, EXHIBITION PROMOTED BY UNIDEA AND S. EGIDIO COMMUNITY

Rome (Fides Service) – On 23 January at the Auditorium of the Parco della Musica viale P. De Coubertin, in Rome an exhibition of photographs on AIDS entitled “Mozambique: the Future is Possible”. Another title for the exhibition, which proposes photographs by Francesco Zizola and Massimo Mastrorillo could be AIDS and Hope. The works are the interpretation of two outstanding witnesses each with his own unique way of looking at the struggle and the desire to live of people in Mozambique, real men and women each with their own trouble and gaze. UNIDEA Foundation promoted by UNICREDIT and S. Egidio Community, organised this event to portray the life which we know exists but which most people see only from afar in the continent of Africa ever more forgotten and which instead is determinant for the survival of the planet. The exhibition is centered around the DREAM programme (Drug Resource Enhancement against AIDS and Malnutrition) organised by S. Egidio Community and supported by UNICREDIT, to fight AIDS in Africa. In only 18 months of activity DREAM has shown itself to be a most effective in Mozambique and it is extending its work to Malawi, Guinea Bissau, Tanzania and Angola.
