Sao Paulo (Agenzia Fides) - “Medellin-Aparecida: a provoking dialogue” is the theme of the Theological-Catechetical Congress, which will be held May 22-24, 2008, in commemoration of the 40th anniversary of the Medellin Conference and 1st anniversary of Aparecida. The encounter will take place in the Colegio La Salle in Sao Paulo (SP), upon the initiative of the Society for Latin American Catechists (SCALA). The goal of the Congress is to promote and consolidate the fundamental theological and pastoral options of Medellin and Aparecida according to the challenges and hopes of the Church on this continent, today and in the future.
The Congress will be celebrated in a similar form in three other Latin American cities: Cordova (Argentina), for the “Cono Sur” Region; Caracas (Venezuela), for the “Bolivariano” nations; and in San Jose (Costa Rica), for Central America and the Caribbean.
