Zhang Jia Kou (Agenzia Fides) - Everyone from 7 year-old children to 80 year-old grandparents from the Catholic community of Wei Xian, in the Diocese of Zhang Jia Kou (province of He Bei), made their contribution in helping the people that live in the area affected by the snow and ice storms in January and February of this year. Although several weeks have already passed since then, the people living there are still finding difficulty in returning to their normal life, as they lost the entire year’s harvest. The Catholics of Wei Xian, who almost all live in conditions of poverty, have made this gesture of kindness, like the widow of the Gospel, offering everything they have for their brothers and sisters suffering from difficulties., They have collected a total of 2,400 Euros for these people in need, which is certainly a substantial sum of money, considering the difficult situations they themselves live in.
