Nan Ning (Agenzia Fides) - Over 2,500 faithful from the Diocese of Nan Ning, in the province of Guang Xi, gathered from all over continental China -from Hong Kong to Vietnam- to participate in the solemn consecration and inauguration of the new Cathedral of the diocese, celebrated on May 1, Solemnity of the Lord’s Ascension and the beginning of the month of Mary. It is a Roman style church and can hold 1,200 faithful. The main door is made of wood, with carvings of the Holy Trinity, the Apostles Peter and Paul, and two angels, done by a famous Vietnamese artist. (NZ) (Agenzia Fides 5/5/2008; righe 7, parole 100)
