Czestochowa (Agenzia Fides) - “The true image of Christian hope” was the theme of the theological symposium that took place on April 5 in Czestochowa, in the John Paul II Auditorium, in the Archdiocesan Major Seminary. The symposium was organized by the Polish Theological Society of Czestochowa and was attended by members of the Society including professors, catechists, priests, religious, seminarians, and students from the Major Seminary and from the Theological Institute of Czestochowa.
The talks were given by Father Stanislaw Urbanski from the Stefan Wyszynski University in Warsaw, Father Antoni Tronina from the Catholic University of Lublin, and by Father Jerzy Bielecki, President of the Polish Theological Society of Czestochowa. Father Teofil Siudy, President of the Polish Mariology Society presided the workshops.
The speakers presented the diverse aspects of Christian hope according to the teachings of Benedict XVI, form a Biblical-Theological point of view, from perspectives of eschatology and theology of spirituality. “Hope is a new challenge today in Poland, at the beginning of the third millennium,” Archbishop Stanislaw Nowak of Czestochowa said during the Symposium. “We need to penetrate more deeply into the mystery of Christian hope. We should study the encyclical Spe Salvi in order to better understand what Christian hope is. Professors, students, and seminarians should all be prepared to offer young people and offer the world a clear and satisfactory presentation of the reality of Christian hope.” (MF/SL) (Agenzia Fides 10/4/2008; righe 21, parole 231)
